Many people question our temperatures during the height of summer.
Of course, things get pretty hot here in the Altiplano of Granada province during July and August, however we have many ways to mitigate the heat of the day and to enjoy the al-fresco evenings and cool overnights.
We all know that the vast majority of southern Spain is hot hot during summer, in fact its why so many people travel to Southern Spain from the UK and Northern Europe, where the weather is wet and miserable, you long for some sun and blue skies.
Here at Casa Bella Teepees our guests enjoy a sound sleep, even in the height of summer. Teepees have a natural chimney effect, with an opening in the top to allow the warm air to exit and opening all around the base to allow the cooler air to enter. This circulating effect is a winner to ensure a sound night’s sleep. In fact, sometimes we are still creeping around trying not to wake everyone up at 9am!
Also, there are many interesting places to visit during the day where the air is naturally cooler from natural cold water rivers and cascades, within 30-35 minutes or even closer if you fancy a dip in our neighbouring Lake Negratin which is only 5-10 minutes depending on which part.
A dip in our own pool will keep you cool for 20 minutes until, yep you guessed it, in for another dip!
Our village of Zujar have just opened our new pool complex, with a brand new swimming pool and bar restaurant….so if our pool isn’t enough, the cold water of the village pool will certainly do the job.
We create as many shaded areas as we can on our pretty glamping site and when the wind is blowing it all helps to keep your temperatures down during the day.
At night our guests sit out and look for shooting starts in the night sky, with virtually no light pollution it’s impossible to miss them! July and August being the peak months for interesting starry nights.
Our guests love their summer stay at Casa Bella Teepees because we never stop trying to ensure you have the best possible experience, from morning through till night!
As one young couple reviewed last year…
“We arrived in late July with extremely high temperatures during the day. But thanks to our wonderful hosts - who recommended some amazing places to visit (Castril and Pozo) - we found ourselves swimming in fresh mountain waters in some of the most picturesque surroundings. The Teepees had very minimal light pollution which made for perfect star gazing opportunities. There is a lovely swimming pool and amazing private BBQ area which allowed us to enjoy the very peaceful surroundings of an evening. During our stay, despite the high temperatures in the day, we found the night time considerably cooler and even required a blanket while sleeping.”
